“The Falstaff International Film Festival here in Stratford-upon-Avon endorses a major film studios in the West Midlands. Longbridge would be a brilliant idea”.

The third week in November 2009 will see the launch of a brand new film festival in Stratford-upon-Avon. The festival will provide a variety of cinema from all over the world with a large selection of its programme dedicated to independent cinema. Following in the footsteps of former film festivals, such as the Stratford-upon-Avon Digital Film Festival, the Falstaff International Film Festival will also support regional and rising talent with a whole array of competitions and awards to be won.

The main events and screenings will take place at the Civic Hall and the Shakespeare Centre as well as other venues located across the town of Stratford. The festival aims to provide a wide range of entertainment and highlight the importance of William Shakespeare being the most influential person in modern cinema.

If you are a budding filmmaker this festival provides the perfect opportunity to network with filmmakers from all over the world as well as take part in seminars and workshops as well as other activities

Pinewood’s whole case (in any appeal) in getting the coveted greenbelt land is that ONLY the South-East can supply its “creative cluster” for this project of “national significance”.

We think they are 180 degrees wrong.
