We take no joy in pointing out that Pinewood Shepperton PLC is now £1.27 a share. It is no longer competing with Premier League Football teams as it certainly should be. It is barely worth the value of Walsall Football Club.
Will its market capitalisation fall below £50 million ?
Expanded around The UK, Pinewood Studios would make more in merchandise sales each year than £50 million.
When it started on the ill-fated South Bucks greenbelt plan, its share price was nearly three times what it is today.
When you are losing share value, it is better to lose face for a day and re-think strategy. Forget trying to rob locals of greenbelt land AND start talking to people who want to offer you land, significant finance and welcome.
If you were just a housing company, who cares ?
But whether they should or should not be, the directors of this PLC have got the destiny of British based film-making in their hands.
