11.11
So five years on from November 11 2004 , what is the share price ? Bear in mind 15% of all cinema revenue last year was made from films assembled (albeit on sub-contract basis) in Pinewood Studios and Shepperton Studios.
Has the share price gone up or down ?
In 2004 on November 11 it was £2.15
Now it is £1.31.
A drop of 39%.
The FTSE 100 increased 9%.
In that time Pinewood Shepperton PLC has GAINED Pinewood Toronto and Teddington Studios, massive lucrative TV contracts from The BBC and ITV (where Lord Grade Chairman of Pinewood Shepperton PLC was…oh yes Chairman) and had some of the FATTEST MOST SUCCESSFUL YEARS IN FILM MAKING AND RETAIL HISTORY….mostly on its own premises.
When will The omniscient Board work out they would double turnover for 2010 by setting up the proposed expansion, INDEED any expansion in Birmingham and The West Midlands ? How ?
Merchandising !
This is the biggest brandname in the world with a merchandising operation which would shame brands outside the world’s top 2000 brands. If it is confined to a small corner shop in a little village which shuns publicity, THEN it will stay like this. If it EXPANDS to the Midlands and around The UK it will rival Coca Cola, Pepsi, McDonalds, Nike, Sony and Disney. The Board have a duty to examine these options.
