“South Buckinghamshire Council has called a halt to the plans of Pinewood Shepperton (LSE: PWS.Lnews) to build a £200m 100-acre set adjacent to its existing site. A weak US dollar will work in its favour. But at 135p, or 18 times 2010 earnings, the shares are best avoided says the Times”.

Pinewood’s situation is described as a “serious setback”  by The Daily Mail finance section.

This is of course based on the assumption that they are daft enough to throw very good money after bad in chasing planning permission on greenbelt land in Iver Heath, South Bucks, in the face of growing local and political opposition.

Once they become more more bullish on the Midlands location for the expansion option, then things look much brighter.
