Aruna Shields is the new Angelina Jolie and a must for the next 007 James Bond movie.

The top Bollywood star of 2010 was not born in Mumbai or Dehli but in London. Aruna Shields got on her 150mph motorbike, jumped out of a helicopter, swam with sharks and became a superstar in ‘Prince’. Next stop Hollywood in 2011. Aruna started like ‘Ant and Dec’ in Byker Grove, a cameo in an Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen movie) but then came a commercial which many took note of.
The courageous English actress decided to go looking for work and did her own stunts in the Bollywood smash.
Aruna followed this up with a role in ’Mr Singh, Mrs Mehta” which 60 Bollywood actresses turned down. As this is a family friendly website, you will just have to research why elsewhere.
Aruna who has a beautiful attractive posh English rose voice described it as a “beautiful film”, with a “good script”,very “avante garde”, ” very artistic” and a study in depression and the trauma of infidelity.
She said the artistic scenes did not upset her and could advertise Indian cinema worldwide.
She said: “It may be cathartic to see my film”.
Until recently only Bollywood, Hong Kong and Hollywood have never needed state subsidy for their movie industry. Bollywood goes from strength to strength.
The UK could and should be joining this club and have a £25 billion a year film industry. But this means building 400 sound stages across The UK and state of the art sets in every county.
We have always had the talent in front of and behind the camera. Now we finally have the money and investers if we can get fair access and fair dealings to our own UK cinemas (third biggest revenue in the world) and the 73% of world cinema revenue which ‘Avatar’ mined outside of the 27% it took in The USA.
Aruna is being compared to Angelina Jolie, star of ‘Tomb Raider‘.
Whether it is helicopters crashing, scuba diving with sharks or motorbikes screeching through shop windows, Aruna is up for it and being described as India’s own 007 girl.
It is a long way from her theatre and Byker Grove roots.
Manu Kumaran, the film’s producer said that she was the hottest woman to ever be on mthe Indian cinema screens. He said that you can call it art or call it a popcorn movie, but “You need to see Aruna to believe how gorgeous she is. She is red hot. Red hot I tell you”.
Aruna said that she “loves kissing on screen especially with a great kisser”.
“Vivek Oberoi in Prince was a much better kisser” she says.“After doing a hell lot of hopping and jumping off the buildings sequences, it was a relief to stand still and kiss him. Plus, he’s a wonderful kisser.” Alas for the producers, this became one of the first films to be pirated on Youtube before its cinema release.
Aruna would be very interested in being in doing a 007 movie when and if MGM sort out their financial problem delaying its production.
This may annoy Freida Pinto, the star of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ who was linked with the role when Sam Mendes was going to direct it.
Many people hope that the new owners of MGM 50% share in 007 insist Vic Armstrong direct it. The last Bond movie was not well received and it only just got into profit because of it using up by far the biggest budget ever (which just was not complemented by the lack of story, screenplay and confused victim directing suited more to Jason Bourne).
