‘The Avengers’ movie set to break $1.5 billion, ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ will also break $1 billion, HS2 is not as nice as it looks and a waste of £35 billion which could be used to avoid 20% police cuts.

‘The Avengers’ movie will break $1.5 billion by June 4 with the lion’s share still the box office revenue outside the USA.  It is a great movie, it deserves to be the third highest grosser of all time.

It has sadly killed off at least $100 million from ‘Men In Black 3′, which will still get to $400 million worldwide but struggle to $500 million now.

‘The Avengers’ took at least  another $100 million from the latest Johnny Depp movie.  It also ensured Michelle Pfeiffer has a flop on her hands when with another $100 million, it was set to be a success. Once again it is not just making a great movie, nor just great marketing. It is also about perfect timing to release it. Box office hits and flops are being decided by being out just 7 days on a movies release !  Going a week earlier or later can mean in extreme cases another $500 million at the box office. Only God knows for sure when best to release a movie. Hollywood bosses need to spend much more time on their knees in prayer !! Getting the release date right is worth another $100 million in publicity and marketing.

‘The Amazing Spider-man’ with action stunts directed by British super genii Vic Armstrong and Andy Armstrong is also magnificent. It will make $1 billion at the box office this summer. Other movies just get out of the way when it opens.

Meanwhile the hapless UK Government seeking a big idea to create jobs in 2012  has picked a grossly expensive idea which will not create them until 2025 ! HS2 is an expensive £35 billion train set. It will destroy communities and create no new jobs for a generation. Investing in film studio sound stage infrastructure and state of the art sets across the UK would do so. Moreover it can create 250 000 jobs within five years.

should be redirected to increase not decrease police numbers.

Home Secretary Theresa May should resign immediately.

The UK can not afford many things, and could axe hundreds of quangos including The ASA,  but can not let the police be reduced by 20%. This will increase fear, crime, and stop people travelling to work, stop opening up businesses, stop people visiting the UK, stop tourism.

HS2 must go until we can increase police not reduce their numbers.

The public money saved  should be given to the police to retain as many frontline officers as possible.

If we can not afford the police, we certainly can not afford the ASA.

The Avengers is a great movie, will now beat £1.5 billion at the box office, but they will not be there in real life.  Nor will The ASA or if people try to rob you in the street, steal your car, break into your home. The police will be there if we devote public taxes to their upkeep.

Public expenditure must now be cut in the UK and in many areas it should be BUT there is one absolute exception.

Cuts of 20% of UK frontline police is massive and will affect people all over the UK – although the Westminster village will still probably get an increase not decrease in police resources.

Save The British Film Industry does not oppose all public spending cuts, indeed we encourage cuts in the film and arts quangos and their croney bureaucracies (which to repeat shore up corrupt croneyism and limit access of most people in the UK to enter the film industry) and we only approve of public spending (especially ring fenced Lottery Money) on physical infrastructure in film making (sound stages, sets, essential equipment) in every region of the UK . The film industry and most arts -if the physical infrastructure is there- will generate and magnetise inward investment and private patronage either seeking profit or kudos/glory.

However, vital public services should be fully financed by the public purse. The police are top of the list. Their budget and manpower should be increased in 2012 and not reduced by 20%.

it is the media battle which will be decisive in pressurising a bunch of inept politicians to do the right thing.

Police budgets and police numbers should be increased and not decreased.

Police keep people safe. The only people who want police cuts are criminals.

A frightened society will become cruel and poor.We want a well staffed, high morale police force.

So please pray for and support the police today. Lobby MPs, write letters, get on radio phone ins, phone up local and national AND international newspapers and TV companies. Get the US press interested. Get the French and German press. Get RTV News interested. This Government hates to be shamed in international media because they see the government jobs as part of their social life. They hate to be ridiculed and embarassed at parties. The Government can back down on police cuts with a big concerted push.

Please plead the Divine Protection of The Blood of Lord Jesus Christ over your local police, your family and home, and theirs. please pray the Government leaders and ministers show wisdom and steward their immense resources wisely.

Truly The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (renamed Israel)  deserves praise. It would be great if people would praise Him everytime they see or hear anything about The Olympics and especially if they see the torch.
